Energy and Carbon Consultants
NSW
Would you like to work with a firm that is on the front line of efforts to address the challenges of our changing climate? Energetics is a national consulting practice with some of Australia’s leading advisors on climate and energy risk management. We work with Australia’s largest emitters of greenhouse gases and all levels of government to develop and drive solutions to increase renewable energy uptake, manage the risks of a hotter, drier climate and identify the opportunities that will lead to a net zero emissions economy.
We are seeking to appoint two Consultants into our Perth office. These are excellent opportunities for candidates with 1-7 years of experience to build the expertise required to deliver a wide range of our solutions across all of the sectors of the Australian economy. If you are passionate making a real difference to climate action in Australia this is the role for you.
We will build upon your expertise to assist Australia’s largest Energy users. Depending on the level of experience and the project pipeline this may include:
- Compiling emissions in accordance with government program requirements such as National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) and National Pollutant Inventory (NPI)
- Assisting with data gathering and analysis for projects such as greenhouse gas reductions, energy procurement, or energy audits. This may include delivering key project tasks such as the management, refinement and analysis of large datasets
- Assist our clients with navigating qualitative and quantitative impacts in changing domestic and international policy in working towards the Paris Agreement
- Assisting with the delivery of carbon and energy procurement strategies and risk management approaches.
The ideal candidate (*) will have:
- An Engineering (or similar) degree; Chemical, process or petroleum engineering preferred. Post graduate studies in climate change, carbon and energy desirable but not essential
- A passion for improving the energy and carbon performance of the Australian economy
- Experience in oil and gas, or an ability to learn the industry quickly
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, including advanced MS Excel skills
- Demonstrated experience working with large and complex datasets
- More experienced candidates will be expected to have good project management skills and a willingness to build client relationships and sales
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Either breadth or depth of experience/knowledge – each has its benefits. We’d love to understand how this would align with our roles
- An interesting extracurricular background – be it artistic, sporting, literary, technology or something else. Whilst these aren’t part of the technical aspect of the role we know that there are many pieces to great people! This is something that is valued at Energetics.
(*) We are also looking for junior consultants and we note that applications at that level will not have as much demonstrated experience – if you have the passion we encourage you to apply
