Temporary Staff - Hours, Overtime and Allowances Information

At Challenge Consulting, we take pride in our ability to find competent staff from a large reserve of skilled
individuals. We consistently follow up with both the client and the temporary staff to ensure your levels
of satisfaction are the highest possible.
All inclusive hourly service fee
Our charge to you is exactly that - it includes all statutory costs, payroll tax, workers' compensation,
superannuation, annual leave, public holidays and sick pay provisions.
Minimum 4 hour charge
No additional charge for short assignments
Ordinary hours
Calculated on a 38 hour week.
Overtime hours
Hours worked by the temporary staff after 38 per week, an 8 hour day or after 6.00 pm are overtime.
Time and one half is charged for the first 2 hours and double time thereafter for overtime.
Saturday: If the temporary has worked 38 hours in the just completed week - the first 2
hours are charged at time and one half and the remainder at double time.
Sunday: All hours worked are charged at double time.
Overtime does not apply to temporary staff contracted by the week who are receiving an hourly rate in
excess of 18.5% above the rate of pay for Grade 4 of this Award except where such temporary works
Sundays or public holidays or both.
Meal allowance
A meal allowance is paid to the temporary staff and charged to you if the temporary staff member
works past 6.00 pm and again after 10.00 pm in any one day.
Award changes
Ordinary hours, overtime hours and meal allowance information indicated above may change without notice to
you if there are any changes to the Award.
Temporary to Permanent Staff
If a Challenge Consulting temporary accepts permanent employment with you while being contracted to you or
at any time after the contract ends, our standard placement fee will be charged. The amount of this fee is
detailed in the permanent recruitment terms of business.
The placement fee for a long-term temporary will be reduced by 10% for each month of continuous service with
you (for a maximum of 5 months).
A placement guarantee will not apply on any temporary-to-permanent placements.
