MBTI LogoMyers-Briggs Type Indicator

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is designed to help individuals become better acquainted with the personality gifts they were born with, and how these make them unique.

The MBTI profile will also demonstrate the ways in which people differ. This allows us to appreciate how people can work individually or as part of a team to achieve the best outcomes.

What the MBTI Measures

The MBTI is a questionnaire designed to assess a person's preferences along the four dimensions of Extraversion-Introversion, Sensing-Intuition, Thinking-Feeling and Judging-Perception:

Where we prefer to focus our attention & get energy
E
Extraversion
I
Introversion
The way we prefer to take in information
S
Sensing
N
iNtuition
The way we prefer to make decisions
T
Thinking
F
Feeling
Our orientation to the external world
J
Judging
P
Perceiving

From knowing these preferences, it is possible to anticipate how a person will normally prefer to act in a variety of different situations. It is also possible to anticipate how a person will typically prefer to approach many aspects of their work.

Feedback from Past Participants

  • “Challenge Consulting was employed to undertake an MBTI-based Team Building Exercise within the PathWest Department of Clinical Immunology and Immunogenetics to allow staff to acquire an understanding of the unique differences amongst their peers and ways in which these differences could be exploited to maximise team effectiveness. The Workshop was expertly facilitated and staff entered into the programme positively and enthusiastically. The outcomes of the exercise have been clearly discernible and the Department has enjoyed a far more harmonious and effective working environment as a result of staff coming to appreciate and respect the inherently unique qualities of each other” Principal Scientist, Perth Hospital
  •
  • "Our organisation had become increasingly aware of the impact our people had on our competitive advantage and we engaged Challenge Consulting to assist us to develop the human potential in our organisation by facilitating MBTI-based team building workshops, individual profiling and assisting the management team to introduce change management initiatives. Challenge Consulting has given us tools and methods to successfully embed the team values and behaviours into the organisational culture and this in turn has now ensured that our competitive advantage remains sustainable into the long-term future of our business. We have seen powerful and positive changes in the organisational culture- which in turn is reflected in happier and more productive staff and will in turn affect staff turnover, customer satisfaction and bottom line business performance. I would unequivocally recommend Challenge Consulting. Challenge Consulting was totally professional from the beginning but also strived to give us the outcomes we were looking for rather than on selling a pre-conceived notion of what was required at the organisational level. Challenge Consulting were wonderful and totally committed to our organisation even beyond the expectations from our original intentions." Chief Executive Officer, RITE - Regional Industry Training Enterprise
  •
  • "I wanted the group to understand the dynamics at play when we meet and why people react the way they do. I got far more than this. I have been able to use the outputs as a performance appraisal for each individual and combine the operational initiatives that are a part of our normal business with the personal learning development plan to conduct very in depth appraisal sessions. I also liked the way that it was not just about the Myers Briggs test and then handover of the results. The way you explained the results and then expanded on them to arrive at a valuable individual and group working document that can be assessed on an ongoing basis is the true value of this whole exercise." Chief Operating Officer, WesTrac
