We are seeking to employ a contracts specialist to work in our Sydney office.  This fixed term position will commence towards the end of March and will run through to 21st December 2018. Ideally this role will be full time but we are focussed on having the best person for the role so welcome discussion regarding flexible and/or part time arrangements.

The primary responsibilities of the role will be to:

  • Review and negotiate client contracts to ensure the best possible contractual terms for the company, particularly with regards to protection of our IP and ensuring that insurance and indemnity issues are resolved in the company’s favour
  • Ensure that all contract amendments are made before they go for signoff by Director/Authorised Representatives
  • Keep contracts database/ERP system (Vision) updated for all new contracts and contract amendments
  • Maintain close relationship with senior Energetics consultants to ensure that contract terms are considered as early as possible for significant project proposals
  • Maintain close working relationship with consultants to ensure that advice can be provided in the event of any contractual issues arising during project delivery
  • Maintain Legal and Compliance company intranet pages
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments relevant to Energetics business and ensure that all employees are aware of any relevant updates
  • Liaise and instruct external counsel with regard to external legal issues e.g. IP protection, debt recovery
  •  Assist in drafting and compiling tender responses for all contract and regulatory questions

Depending on the experiences and skills that you bring there may be opportunities to assist with company secretarial and AFSL compliance roles.

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • A Strong understanding of Contract Law and Procurement
  • Completed Bachelor Degree in Law (no minimum PAE required)
  • Demonstrated interest in energy sector desirable, but not mandatory
  • An understanding of Australian Financial Services Licensee compliance requirements desirable, but not mandatory
